According to a reliable industry insider, a new iPhone model is set to launch very shortly. The new phone, code-named Roma, will be revealed at an Apple event in the spring. This event might happen in March, but it might also happen in May, as was the case last year.
Most likely, the iPhone Roma is the latest, updated version of the iPhone SE. Since last year, Apple insider Mark Gurman has been discussing the next iPhone SEโs early 2025 release date. According to recent reports, Appleโs low-cost iPhone will be updated with the iPhone SE 4, also known as the iPhone 16E.
The upcoming iPhone 16E will have an edge-to-edge screen with a notch at the top and will do away with the home button by using the body of the iPhone 14. The upcoming iPhone 16E, in contrast to the iPhone 14, is rumoured to have 8 GB of RAM in order to operate Apple Intelligence, the companyโs newest preoccupation.
According to reports, mass production of the iPhone 16E is set to begin shortly, indicating that the phone has completed its design and testing stages. Given that the iPhone SE hasnโt been updated in years, I anticipate that even though the price of the iPhone 16E may increase, it will still sell like crazy.
The iPhone 17 Air, a very thin phone with less powerful features, is another next iPhone model that is currently in development. I believe that consumers who value aesthetics will be the primary target market for the iPhone 17 Air. The Plus versions, which did not sell as well as Apple had intended, will be replaced by this new iPhone.
Even while the iPhone 17 Airโs early release would have been a pleasant surprise, it is most likely that the iPhone Roma is actually the 16E. Iโm confident that the iPhone 16E will easily rank among the top phones available in 2025 if the price stays affordable.
